Blankenship Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pirates
Three Rivers Stadium was rocking after an exciting Pirates win today.

The Pittsburgh Pirates got a stellar effort from pitcher Butch Henry, helping Pittsburgh score a 3-2 win over the visiting New York Yankees. Pittsburgh reliever Guy Hoffman picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Eric Plunk shouldered the loss.

Lance Blankenship had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the 11th. The Pittsburgh second baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Pittsburgh in front, 3-2.

"It was a test of wills," said Stephen Ginter, the Pittsburgh skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."

The Pirates, at 46-36, sit in second place in the Federal League East Division.
