Tigers Score Late, Upend Expos, 7-5
|
Behind the bravura of left fielder Jeff Barry, the Detroit Tigers topped the Montreal Expos by the score of 7-5. Barry was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Tigers. Detroit reliever Danny Graves was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Ed Correa took the loss. Today's win puts Detroit at 28-54, while Montreal falls to 50-32.
Barry had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Ed Correa, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Tigers a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Barry.
"Put a star next to this win," Barry said.
