Devil Rays Come Back Late to Clip Reds
|
The Orlando Devil Rays topped the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3, in Federal League action at Riverfront Stadium. The player of the game was Orlando pitcher and Brookline, Massachusetts native Joe Johnson. Frank DiPino earned his 2nd save in 2 chances. The Devil Rays bumped their record to 44-40 with this latest triumph.
Lenny Dykstra in the top of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Devil Rays trailing 3-2, the Orlando center fielder hit a 2-run double.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Dykstra told the Orlando Today. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
