Seattle Blanks Oakland, 7-0
Wednesday, April 30th, 1997
Chris Haney of the Seattle Pilots spun his magic on the Oakland Athletics today. He blanked them 7-0 on 6 hits, registering 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Haney said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Seattle skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Chris pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
Haney has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-3 record with a 4.74 ERA. The Seattle reliever has limited opposing batters to a .259 batting average.
