Dye and Tavarez Fight, Suspended 4 Games

A bench-clearing brawl marred the Seattle-Baltimore game at Kingdome yesterday and resulted in two players being suspended today by the league office. The Pilots Jermaine Dye and the Orioles Julian Tavarez were ejected from the game for fighting. Both players will have to sit out 4 games.
This year Dye is hitting .193, produced 23 RBIs and 9 home runs, scored 14 times and gotten on base at a .233 rate.
Tavarez has taken the mound for 22 relief appearances this season, nailing down 3 saves while notching a 3-1 record with a 2.70 ERA. The Baltimore reliever has limited opposing batters to a .164 batting average.
