Year Ends for Mark Leiter in Chicago
Monday, April 3rd, 1995
Chicago starting pitcher Mark Leiter could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. He exited yesterday's Pittsburgh game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Leiter would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
