Thomas Wins FL Best Player Award Monday, May 26th, 1997 His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Frank Thomas was rewarded with the Federal League Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Minnesota Twins first baseman hit .412 while collecting 7 hits in 17 at-bats, 6 home runs and 9 RBIs. Thus far this season Thomas is hitting .216 with 16 home runs, 37 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 176 at-bats and has played in 50 games. |
