Twins Koji Akiyama Hurt

When Koji Akiyama was hurt against the Cleveland Spiders, the Minnesota Twins were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 33-year-old center fielder suffered a partially torn labrum colliding with a player at a base in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Akiyama would miss 4 months of the season.
This year Akiyama is hitting .200 with 14 hits, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and has scored 6 runs.
