Jones Week's #1 Player Monday, April 17th, 1995 So far in his young career, Chipper Jones has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Federal League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 22-year-old Texas Rangers third baseman hit at a torrid .481 clip as he collected 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This year Jones is batting .282 with 3 home runs. |
