Calderon and Oliver Brawl, League Suspends Them Sunday, June 1st, 1997
Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's St. Louis-Minnesota contest at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals Ivan Calderon and the Twins Darren Oliver will have to sit out 5 and 6 games respectively for their parts in the brawl.
This year Calderon is hitting .250 with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .332 clip and scored 36 runs.
This season-to-date Oliver has 4 wins and 5 losses and a 6.33 ERA.
