United League Picks Top Player

27-year-old Joe Randa sent shock waves through Doubleday Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the United League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Randa made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .391 average, 9 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 home runs and 13 runs batted in.

Where the Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Randa certainly made his mark last week.

Randa is presently hitting at a .313 pace with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and has scored 19 times.
