Seattle Trades Hartley for Charlotte's James

The Seattle Pilots have finalized a deal that will send 35-year-old RHP Mike Hartley to Charlotte for 34-year-old minor league LF Dion James. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon.


To date this year Hartley has fashioned a 3.33 ERA over 24.1 innings with a 0-1 record. He has made 16 relief appearances with 22 strikeouts and no saves.

In a career spanning 1684 games, James has batted .280 with 1819 hits, 134 home runs, 767 RBIs, and 1030 runs scored.
