St. Louis Cardinals Ship Finley to Milwaukee Monday, June 23rd, 1997 Reports have surfaced that St. Louis has agreed to send 27-year-old C Damian Miller and 32-year-old LF Steve Finley to the Milwaukee Creams in exchange for 25-year-old C Jorge Posada, 32-year-old LF Gerald Young and 29-year-old 2B Mike Lansing. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Currently Finley has 13 home runs and a .310 batting average. Currently Posada is batting .206 with 47 hits and 10 home runs. He has knocked in 31 runs and scored 31 times. |
