Dodgers Green Lost for Year Tuesday, June 24th, 1997 Playoff hopes of Dodgers player Shawn Green have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the first baseman suffered a broken bone in the elbow running the bases in today's game against Washington Senators. Green is expected to miss up to 4-5 months, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs. For the season Green is currently batting .224 with 14 home runs and 38 RBIs. In 62 games he has reached base at a .300 rate and scored 42 runs to date. |
