Griffey Jr. Suffers Mild Electrocution, May Miss Game
Thursday, May 4th, 1995
Pilots center fielder Ken Griffey Jr. had a close call at home yesterday. "I was replacing an electrical outlet cover plate and got a really bad shock," explained Griffey Jr.. "A few minutes later, my right hand felt numb and I noticed some redness, so I decided to go to the ER and have it checked out." Griffey Jr. was found to have a very mild electrical burn, but will likely sit out the next game if any numbness or soreness persists. Even though he was assured the hand was okay, Griffey Jr. said he wasn't taking any chances in the future. "Next time, I'm calling an electrician!"
