San Diego's Ramirez Snaps Up Player of the Week Monday, July 7th, 1997 One of the league's most exciting young players, Manny Ramirez of the San Diego Padres earned himself United League Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 25-year-old left fielder had a lofty .500 average (13-for-26), collecting 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored. So far this year Ramirez is hitting .266 with 28 home runs. |
