New York Trades Fryman for Florida's Hansen

The Yankees have reached a deal with Florida, sending 30-year-old LHP Doug Simons and 28-year-old 3B Travis Fryman to the Marlins in exchange for 28-year-old minor league RHP Brad Cornett, 24-year-old minor league 2B Carter Haney and 28-year-old minor league 1B Dave Hansen. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon.


This season Fryman is hitting .227 with 17 home runs.

Hansen has a career .239 batting average with a .313 OBP. He has hit 5 homers, driven in 44 runs and scored 74 runs since he came into the league.
