Done Deal: Bystrom for Heredia Thursday, July 31st, 1997 Signed ... sealed ... and delivered. St. Louis has worked out terms of a deal to send 39-year-old minor league RHP Marty Bystrom to San Diego for 31-year-old RHP Gil Heredia. Both teams expect to introduce their new players at press conferences later in the week. Bystrom has rolled up a 240-206 career record and he boasts a lifetime ERA of 3.94. Heredia's record up to now is 0-and-0 with no saves and a 8.68 ERA. He has given up 28 hits in 18.2 innings with 13 strikeouts. |
