League Issues 4-Game Suspensions for Brawl Monday, September 1st, 1997 Oakland's Herbert Perry and San Diego's Chuck Finley have been handed 4-game suspensions for their parts in yesterday's upheaval at Oakland Coliseum. The teams were notified today that the suspensions would go into effect immediately. According to the league commissioner Perry and Finley provoked and incited the brawl and bore the blame for what transpired.
Currently Perry is batting .183 with 85 hits and 13 home runs. He has knocked in 42 runs and scored 39 times.
So far this season Finley has a 5-6 record with a 4.23 ERA.
