Franco on Fire: 5-for-5 for Baltimore
Saturday, September 6th, 1997
Matt Franco of the Orioles was unstoppable in today's 16-7 victory over the Washington Senators at Memorial Stadium. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Baltimore first baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."

Matt Franco hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

This season Franco has banged out 126 hits in 539 at-bats for a .234 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .310 pace and his totals also include 59 RBIs and 58 runs scored.
