Chicago Out of Time, Out of Playoffs

The efforts of the Chicago Cubs weren't consistent enough this season to have any real shot at making the playoffs. And now they have been officially and mathematically eliminated from the postseason chase.
The Cubs have missed the playoffs 12 times in their 21 years as a Doubleday Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1994. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have missed the playoffs 5 times. Chicago last won the World Series in 1994.
