Playoff Bound: Montreal Secures Wild Card Saturday, September 13th, 1997 The Montreal Expos celebration was a bit downplayed today, as the team officially secured a playoff spot. Starting Pitcher Mark Guthrie said his club expected to have got to the playoffs and thus, it's not as exciting as it will be when the team wins the United League East Division or advances to the World Series. The Expos record currently sits at 97-50 and they will be vying for the 2nd Doubleday Baseball League championship in franchise history. |
