Spiders Johnson Snags FL Player of the Week

A battle-tested Howard Johnson declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 36-year-old Cleveland first baseman collected the Federal League Player of the Week Award.
He wrapped up the week with a .357 average, 10 hits in 28 at-bats, 6 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
In 1997 Johnson has hit at a .203 clip with 86 hits, 34 home runs, 74 RBIs and has scored 59 times.
