League Suspends Perez and Crabtree for Fisticuffs Thursday, September 18th, 1997 Eduardo Perez of the Kansas City Royals and Tim Crabtree of the Florida Marlins will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 4 and 8 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Royals-Marlins game at Royals Stadium.
Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Perez and Crabtree will begin serving them soon.
Crabtree has taken the mound for 22 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 2-3 record with a 4.11 ERA. The Florida reliever has limited opposing batters to a .168 batting average.
