FL Player of the Week Chosen Monday, May 15th, 1995 At the age of 28, Bernard Gilkey might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Cleveland right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .550 batting average. For his efforts Gilkey collected the Federal League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 11 hits in 20 at-bats, 6 home runs and 11 RBIs last week in 7 games. In the 1995 season Gilkey is hitting .271 with 10 home runs. |
