Pittsburgh, Cincinnati Agree to Deal
Thursday, December 29th, 1994
It's all done except the paperwork. The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a trade that will send 31-year-old RHP Mike Cook to Cincinnati, while nothing will be shipped to Pittsburgh. A top front office executive with the Pirates described the trade talks as "quick and easy." "We're glad to get this deal done. We think it's something that helps our ball club and it didn't take too long at all to sort this one out," he said.
In his 76-game career Cook has put up a 3.37 ERA and fanned 131 hitters in 136.1 innings. His career record stands at 3-6 with 2 saves.
