Wild Card Clinched by Milwaukee
Saturday, September 27th, 1997
The Milwaukee Creams certainly made things interesting.
The Federal League Central Division club have battled to the bitter end and have come up with a wild card berth.
"It's satisfying to clinch the playoffs so late in the season," said starting pitcher Matt Young. "You start to doubt yourself and wonder if you can even make it."
But the Creams have in fact made it, with their 88-72 record holding up to now give them a chance at the franchise's 2nd Doubleday Baseball League championship.
