Mets Sammy Sosa Injured: Day-to-Day Saturday, September 27th, 1997 Sammy Sosa of the New York Mets was hurt in yesterday's game with the Senators. He sustained a bruised thigh while being hit by a pitch and will be listed day-to-day. Team doctors said it could be one week before the standout right fielder will be completely healed. He could miss a few games. In the current season, Sosa has put up a .266 batting average with 149 hits, 50 home runs, 136 RBI and scored 119 runs. |
