Wednesday, October 1st, 1997
Raul Ibanez earned September's Rookie of the Month honors in the Federal League for last month's performance. The boyish Cleveland left fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Ibanez hit .312 with 10 home runs, 21 RBIs and 24 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

A look at his season totals shows Ibanez with 39 home runs, .279 BA, .334 OBP, 109 RBIs and 96 runs scored.
