New York Mets Ship Martinez to Cincinnati Friday, June 9th, 1995 Officials for New York confirmed that they have traded 27-year-old 1B Tino Martinez to the Cincinnati Reds. In return, the Mets will receive 24-year-old minor league 1B Olmedo Saenz. Thus far this season in 58 games Martinez is batting .254 with 12 home runs, 41 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 53 hits in 209 at-bats. This year Saenz is hitting .174, produced 10 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 9 times and gotten on base at a .274 rate. |
