Cordova and Nomo Brawl, League Suspends Them Wednesday, July 5th, 1995 Marty Cordova of Chicago and Hideo Nomo of Minnesota were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Cordova will have to miss 4 games for his part in the brawl, while Nomo was given 6 games. League officials announced their suspensions today. This year Cordova is batting .241 with 22 home runs and 42 RBIs. In 89 games he has scored 55 times. Thus far this season Nomo has posted a 4-7 record, started 19 games, struck out 142 batters in 114.1 innings and compiled a 4.25 ERA. |
