Pittsburgh Pirates Ship Jaha to St. Louis Thursday, July 6th, 1995 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Pirates and Cardinals have agreed to a swap. St. Louis will get 29-year-old 1B John Jaha and 25-year-old minor league C Kelly Stinnett with Pittsburgh receiving 25-year-old LF Ernie Young and 27-year-old minor league C Brent Mayne in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. This season Jaha has hit at a .118 clip with 3 RBIs, 0 home runs and 7 runs scored. Looking at his present stats, Mayne has compiled a .174 batting average in 19 games with a .219 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 7 runs. |
