Gant Parks 3 HR in the Seats
Saturday, July 29th, 1995
The Washington Senators won't soon forget the display of raw power put on today by Ron Gant of the Toronto Blue Jays. He victimized the Senators by pounding three pitches out of RFK Stadium to spark his club to the 3-1 win.
"I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Gant told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow, I could just pop up the same pitches and go 0-for-3."
In addition to the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Ron Gant singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Chad Ogea in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Chad Ogea in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Lee Smith in the 9th.
Gant is hitting .243 this year with 33 home runs, 61 RBIs and 69 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 411 at-bats, 53 walks and a .333 on-base percentage. Gant has played in 109 games.
