Pittsburgh Trades Oquendo for San Diego's Easley Monday, July 31st, 1995 It's being reported in the Pittsburgh press that the Pirates have traded 23-year-old minor league 2B Wil Cordero and 32-year-old SS Jose Oquendo to the San Diego Padres for 25-year-old 2B Damion Easley and 32-year-old 2B Randy Velarde. However, there is no confirmation by the two ball clubs. This season Oquendo has hit at a .205 clip with 16 RBIs, 0 home runs and 22 runs scored. Easley is batting at a .146 pace this season, picking up 18 hits in 123 at-bats with 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
