FL Selects Hamilton July's Top Starter Tuesday, August 1st, 1995 In July, Joey Hamilton tore through the Federal League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 24 years old. The young Cincinnati starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 1.88 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 43 innings he collected 43 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .148 average. To date this season Hamilton sports a 15-5 mark with a 2.79 ERA in 22 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .190 batting average and has 173 strikeouts in 177.1 innings. |
