Glavine Grabs UL Top Pitcher Trophy Tuesday, August 1st, 1995 Veteran Tom Glavine put together quite a successful stretch in July for the New York Mets, earning himself the United League Pitcher of the Month award. Glavine racked up a 6-0 record in 6 starts, posting a 0.68 ERA over 53 innings and striking out 40. So far this year Glavine has made 23 starts, tossed 166.1 innings, struck out 125 batters and walked 46. His record is 14-5 with a 2.81 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .228 batting average. |
