Galarraga and Leiter Suspended 4 Games Wednesday, August 2nd, 1995 Andres Galarraga of the Oakland Athletics and Al Leiter of the Colorado Rockies received official notice today from the league commissioner's office that they had been suspended 4 games for their roles in the on-field disturbance in a recent game at Oakland Coliseum. Thus far this season Galarraga is hitting .214 with 26 home runs, 69 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 83 hits in 387 at-bats and has played in 107 games. To date this season Leiter sports a 0-2 mark with a 3.98 ERA in 0 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .181 batting average and has 52 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. |
