Blue Jays Gant Snags UL Player of the Week Monday, August 21st, 1995 The Player of the Week has been chosen by the United League. The award went to Ron Gant, left fielder of the Toronto Blue Jays. In a sensational hitting performance, he wrecked league pitchers with a .435 average to win the honor. Gant went 10-for-23 for the week, totaled 3 home runs and 7 RBIs and scored 6 times. This season Gant has hit at a .256 clip with 73 RBIs, 39 home runs and 80 runs scored. |
