July's Best Rookie Named by UL Monday, August 1st, 1994 Though he's only 20, Ismael Valdez really put together a spectacular July to capture the United League Rookie of the Month honor. The San Diego starter spun 3 wins and 2 losses as he posted a 3.53 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. So far this year Valdez has a 6-11 record with a 5.44 ERA. |
