Bonds and Drabek Fight, Get Suspended
Thursday, August 4th, 1994
If there wasn't a history between Barry Bonds of Boston and Doug Drabek of Pittsburgh, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Bonds said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season in 111 games, Bonds has hit at a .255 clip with 98 hits, 31 home runs, 73 RBIs and 88 runs scored.
For the year Drabek has compiled a 9-7 record with a 4.24 ERA.
