Gooden at His Best, Blanks Florida Friday, September 2nd, 1994 Dwight Gooden scattered 2 hits over 9 innings, going the distance in the 1-0 Baltimore Orioles victory over the Florida Marlins at Joe Robbie Stadium. The 29-year-old Gooden whiffed 7 and allowed no walks in the game. "Not perfect today, but I'll definitely take it," Gooden said later. "I made a couple mistakes but thankfully they didn't get all of them and the guys behind me cleaned things up." Gooden has made 29 starts, tossed 228 innings, struck out 235 batters and walked 69.
