Friday, September 2nd, 1994
Did you catch a home run yesterday? One lucky fan has a prize possession after Gary Gaetti crushed his 400 home run tonight.
Gaetti offered the lucky fan some souvenirs and a small cash prize in exchange for the ball. The fan who caught the ball has been identified, but has not yet commented on his intentions.
"That's one you would kind of like to keep," Gaetti said.
The Expos third baseman went 1 for 4 with 1 home run and 1 RBI as the Montreal Expos won 9-8 over the New York Mets.
The Expos will be hosting a Gary Gaetti commemorative poster promotion for an upcoming homestand.
In 2000 games, Gaetti is a lifetime .225 hitter. He has knocked in 1047 runs, scored 942 times, hit 400 home runs, walked 565 times and has an on-base percentage of .284.
