Tigers Out of Time, Out of Playoffs

Any faint hope of playoff contention the Detroit Tigers might have had is now a thing of the past -- the Tigers was mathematically eliminated from postseason consideration today.
The Tigers have missed the playoffs 10 times in their 18 years as a Doubleday Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1991. In the last 10 seasons, the Tigers have missed the playoffs 3 times. Detroit has won the World Series 3 times in their history.
