Daniels Rips 3 Homers Against Cardinals
Thursday, September 8th, 1994
Kal Daniels of the Twins went on a hitting spree at Busch Stadium today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 9-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
"I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Daniels said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
The Minnesota left fielder did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
Kal Daniels hit a solo-shot off Terry Mulholland in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Terry Mulholland in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Olin in the 9th.
Currently Daniels is batting .251 with 40 home runs and 68 RBIs.
