Gonzalez Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Thursday, September 8th, 1994
Luis Gonzalez's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Chicago left fielder smacked 2 hits against the Chicago White Sox in today's game at Comiskey Park, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Cubs drop the game, 8-6.
"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Luis Gonzalez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th.
This season Gonzalez is batting at a .278 clip with 31 home runs and 102 RBIs.
