Marlins Out of Time, Out of Playoffs

The Florida Marlins will have to play out the season without even the faintest glimmer of hope for a late-season playoff push. The club was mathematically eliminated today from postseason contention.
Florida last appeared in the postseason in 1991. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 9 times in their 18-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Marlins have missed the playoffs 4 times.
