Young Cops #1 Pitcher Award in September Saturday, October 1st, 1994 Matt Young took home the United League Pitcher of the Month honors in September. After all these years playing ball, the 36-year-old veteran still enjoys the game as though he'd just broken camp for the first time a month ago. He's a bit older now with a few more aches and pains, but the old man has reason to celebrate, having gone 5-0 for Los Angeles last month and claiming the Pitcher of the Month award. He tacked up a 1.12 ERA in his 5 starts, tossing 40.1 innings and striking out 28. So far this season Young has a record of 18-8 with 202 strikeouts and 73 walks in 241.2 innings and a 2.50 ERA. |
