Hitting Streak Still Alive for Brogna Monday, May 19th, 1997 Rico Brogna ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Foxes Ballpark, when he collected 1 hit in 5 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Idaho Falls Chukars dropped the game, 9-8, to the Spokane River Rats. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Brogna said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Rico Brogna grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This year Brogna is hitting .400 with 76 hits, 9 home runs, 43 RBIs and has scored 41 runs. |
