Ochoa Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games
Tuesday, May 20th, 1997
Chalk up another one for Hartford Whalers right fielder Alex Ochoa. He now has hit in 25 straight games. Ochoa went 3-for-5 today's game at Paradise Grounds but saw his club defeated 9-4 by the host Savannah Swamp Foxes.
"Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Whalers manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Alex Ochoa flied out in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Ochoa has hit at a .380 clip with 78 hits, 13 home runs, 56 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
