Sounds Chill Roberts's Hot Streak
Wednesday, May 28th, 1997
Bip Roberts, left fielder for the Tucson Tarantulas, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Nashville Sounds today. Not only did the Sounds break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Tucson by the score of 6-1.

"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Roberts said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."

Roberts is hitting .344 this season with 1 home run, 34 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 84 hits in 244 at-bats.
